A Private Society For Professionals Of The Decorative Arts
The International Antiques & Arts Society (IAAS) is a private organization that was founded over 85 years ago in Bordeaux, France. This fraternal body represents a select group of renowned curators, appraisers, antiquities professionals, and design-art specialists, from within a variety of diverse fields spread out across the decorative arts spectrum.
IAAS membership is promoted through a peer-reviewed process that stresses core fundamentals in the areas of lettered historical research as well as traditional and non-traditional valuation techniques. Members are well acquainted with rare and unusual antiquities, with many conducting research investigations for institutions such as, Musée du Louvre, The Chrysler Museum Of Art, and the Museo di Arti Decorative in Italy.
The IAAS is also an integral part of an effort to support educational-driven services that illuminate, consider, and promote the decorative arts narrative within today's modern society. From this station, the IAAS strives to continually catalog and document a comprehensive list of decorative arts and design exhibitions from around the world - both past and present. Academic in nature, the society's goal is to advance the work of those who aim to create and enhance the decorative arts community through cultural institutions, museums, galleries, and scholarly pursuits.
